After a great deal of work by several departments on campus, GCC's home on the Web has finally received its face lift! If you haven't already, please visit:
http://www.gccaz.edu
The new design work is still in transition. You will observe many changes as we approach the fall semester, and afterward as we prepare for the next stage of basing the content management of our web sites in Sharepoint. As always, feedback about the web site and its functionality is welcome. The new Contact link at the top of the home page provides several email links for general needs, among which you'll see Web Site listed for feedback purposes. Thanks to everyone who has provided useful feedback already.
In the mean time we know that faculty and staff need to find what they've always reached from the home page before. I hope these few points are helpful to you:
- Frequently used online applications such as Webmail, the HR signin, Course Rosters, etc. are grouped in the right column of the new Resources for Employees page. The rest of this page is basically the same as the old Information for Employees page that used to be linked to the Employees button on the home page. Now you will find it under the Faculty & Staff menu heading on the new home page.
- Instructional Areas are linked in several places. There are Academics sections in the Future Students and Current Students menus, wherein the Instructional Areas link brings up the familiar table of departments and subjects. The A-Z Index link at the top of the page likewise opens the A-Z menu of subjects like we used to have on the home page.
- The drop-down menu that used to appear in the center of the home page under the title "Service Departments & Other Resources" was a familiar way for many employees to find certain departments and services. You will find that on the A-Z Index page as well.
- When in doubt, use the Search function. We will be updating various addresses in the site index as our transition continues (and as various redundant pages are removed), but all the major topics and departments will remain accessible from this point.
More information about the web site will be shared as part of events and presentations for semester startup. We are grateful for everyone's patience as we refine the site navigation.
